I can still vividly remember that day—March 20, 2020—when Dubai went into lockdown. It feels like it was just yesterday. Looking back, I’m truly amazed at how resilient we’ve all become since then.

In recent years, and especially following the seismic shifts brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic, society has seen a profound change in the way people value experiences over material possessions. Gone are the days when accumulating things was synonymous with success and happiness. Instead, a new trend has emerged, rooted in a desire for meaningful experiences, connections, and a more balanced lifestyle. Let’s take a closer look at why this shift has occurred and how the pandemic accelerated it.

A Change in Perspective

The pandemic provided a forced pause, an unexpected opportunity for many to reflect on what truly mattered. As the world slowed down, people began to realize the temporary nature of material possessions and the enduring value of experiences.
