Embracing the Pause

How are you?

It’s merely a phase from our lives where everyone was taken by surprise. In these challenging times, safeguarding our mental health shouldn’t be left uncompromise. In a shift that would have been unthinkable just months ago, quarantine and social distancing have now become a common language that everyone speaks. It’s overwhelming toll on business makes people feeling anxious and isolated. Affected by uncertainty and fear of tomorrow. We all somehow change our behavior patterns and go into survival mode.  Given the current lifestyle of modern age life in our increasingly digital world, Internet has been a breather from all this madness.

Embracing the Pause… being idle doesn’t mean bad. It means, the stage where I engage myself in thoughts downloading and staying away from emotional contagion. I practice gratitude, as it gives me clarity to re-evaluate how I use my time, emotions and energy. Study on gratitude has shown that it just might be the single most powerful method for increasing our well-being. To enjoy the effectiveness of gratitude, then we may want to appreciate the unpleasant things for their silver lining. We may not be on the ideal situation right now, however this might be the best opportunity to practice self-care. Not everyone has the privilege of slowing down. Modern day society is outrageous with celebrating results and achievements. The pace is too fast, some unable to keep the speed. In this unprecedented times, the best thing we can do to ourselves is to give grace to process our emotions and manage them at our own pace.

Staying Still…

I try to observe calmness. To stay grounded and centered as much as possible.

Staying still means we are safe and protected.    Addressing our Serotonin levels or Happy Cells will increase motivation and self – compassion.  I must say it’s not a complex task. It requires discipline, before it forms a habit. The Will to change the “Mind-shift” one step at time. Don’t forget our feeling is a messenger. Understand what is important to us and label it.

We might fall into trap of not finding the balance. Staying active doesn’t mean all physical, we used to enjoy the hustle and workplace grind and yet often forget how to stay connected and to utilize the technological advancements that offers us. I myself was guilty of this, I’m a total introvert from head to toe and it’s not on my DNA to connect somehow.

It’s time now to take a break from COVID and tune in to your fave Podcast, watch Ted Talks or alternatively binge on Netflix. Would highly recommend Kingdom, to give you the chills and Money Heist to hurt your brain LOL.

how do you practice solitude?

A lot of people might think this “off” is a vacation, let’s treat it as an opportunity to stay focus and re-invent ourselves to be future ready.

I want to use my platform to spread love & good vibes to all, Stay safe and positive. Much love and God Bless!

As I am on Maternity Leave, I have been indoors and away from work for a while. I do know quite a few people who have found this time really helpful to reset. I have definitely drawn closer to God during this time, hopefully it will be over soon.

Its really important to stay calm. But sometimes I am too tired with the house work, office work and then I have my blogs. There are thoughts of old parents staying alone. But its a trial test for humanity and we need to survive.

I have found myself just as busy as before with my fmaily all at home and caring for my dad who lives with us. I am an only child so practicing solitude has always been a part of my existence. I have so much I want to do so i am trying to use this time to make some progress.

Rhea, I don’t think you could ever realize how much I needed to read this post, but I did. In these times, sentiments like yours are so necessary and vital for us. People as a collective don’t understand how important is it to pause, and I need to remember to embrace this time of slower pace. It is exactly what our earth needed, and what we needed.

It’s the time of healing, for everyone.

      I just remember this quote:

This was great, thanks. I found Wim Hof recently and do breathing exercises and cold showers. I then use the Sam Harris waking up app and get fully grounded. Then I can roar into the day.

My husband typically commutes in horrible silicon valley traffic everyday and then works a labor intensive job as a construction worker. I think this mandatory break has been a blessing in disguise. We’ve had lots of down time as a family and he’s had a chance to catch up on a much need breather! I think this is a good reset for people.

    • Rhea Evangelista

True! everything now is on a rush, Probably nature find it’s way for us to slow down and appreciate things more. God Bless with your family patricia! stay safe..
