I’m back from my sabbatical leave!

Time Out

I took a break from blogging while I got myself together. I’ve been out for almost 3 months! I know this is long… Don’t worry things are better now. Past months has been tough, I’m overwhelmed with my page and then it became about a weekly deadline. When I started my blog, my purpose is to turn my own pain into purpose. My readers helped me in healing and moving on. Currently, my husband is almost off taking SSRI’s. Weaning process is hard, wrong move again might take a blow in return. He is like a new person! Depression made him realize a lot of things, his faith became stronger & our relationship gets even better.

Perhaps, trauma had hit me so hard that I don’t trust his progress anymore. I became more overprotective to the point that it is pointless. I always felt that he is vulnerable and is potential for relapse. I became more conscious of the possible triggers and became paranoid of old symptoms coming back. Seeing him in a good mood doesn’t make me comfortable, for me – I need to be constantly vigilant when it comes to managing the recurrence of anxiety symptoms. I also acknowledged that caring for him is like a monumental task. I came to the point that I became numb, and in the moment, it feels like abandonment. Flashbacks of his breakdown always linger my thoughts. Marriage is a team wherein I took charge, taking the lead. Now he’s back’ he wants the wheel back. I’m glad, but am I ready? My husband became more sensitive of what I’ve been going through. He is more chilled & composed compared to me. Our conversations became more matured. Though, I can’t help to check on him regularly – this doesn’t make him feel pissed anymore.

My Solace

Fast forward today, I learned how to balance my life again. Bad times are only temporary.I admit, I almost forget that it’s about the journey not the destination. I was living in the past! Worrying isn’t productive. Now, I’m at peace and living in the present again.

God gives you what you need. His timing is so perfect that when it does happen, you will stand back and think amazed! Sometimes the lessons are in the waiting itself, a testing of faith. Because He knows what you need before you ask. AMEN! and MUCH LOVE to y’all…

I always wondered how it would be to have go back to work after a sabbatical. When I read the rest of your article, I see there is a whole lot to it all. I commend you for doing what you need to do through the struggle. The Bible calls a wife a husband’s “help meet”. I know that it means we “meet” them where they are when they fall short.

I so enjoyed your blog. your very insight on the written word of God, “help meet, we meet them where they are when they fall short”. I haver not heard that expressed in that way before. Thank you. patricia

I can relate to you also. When I started blogging I purely share my experiences with my readers. But when collaboration started there are things you can’t say and making me feel like I’m not doing my part that much. Anyway, I inform the brand itself straight if I find anything not right with their products.

We all need breaks. It can be the breaking point otherwise. The time is necessary to reflect.

Welcome back! I’ve had my blog for over 8 years and taking breaks are probably one of the main reasons why I’ve been able to keep doing it this long and not get burned out and overwhelmed <3
