May is Mental Health Awareness Month! Internet has been a good tool in reaching out, moreover spreading the love. I’m excited to participate, step forward and to get involve in breaking the stigma. Joining a Carers Support group will be beneficial as well. This month is especially meaningful for us, it has been part of our beautiful struggle. When you say mental health, it is often associated with “Mental Illness” for most people. You can be affected but still engage in activities and at the same time promotes mental health.
The way I consider it, Awareness month is the time we raise our consciousness despite if you were the one struggling directly and indirectly. Besides, this is the best time to talk over the value of how we can support our love ones about being strong mentally and emotionally.
Join us on our movement!
How can we support Mental health Awareness?
- Share your story
- Join a support group
- Unbiased judgement
- Educate people
- Volunteer work
These are just my preference but if you do have something in mind, let me know your thoughts! Share your blog and let’s break the stigma!
Anyway, it depends on you! The reason I want to make here is your comfort level discussing these topics. Not everyone is open and as bold as the rest. The call starts within, make yourself known and be the light to others.

Great post! I have been told my husband was most likely bipolar and both of my boys have mood disorders with the oldest having parts of Aspergers. As I’ve boldly taken the boys for medicine, social groups and counseling, I have been attacked, ridiculed and told how wrong I was for every single person in both families until I sent the boys with them without the complained about medicine. It’s sad that taking care of ourselves and our children is looked down on so much.
