Personal branding is a wide topic to begin with. So, why bother? When I started my blog 4 months ago, my aim is just to have a quiet place to throw all my pains. When my reach and engagements start to pour in, it made me realize that I might have a chance in this field. Writing can be either you wing it or not.  Impressions will come smoothly, if you a have a good content. Audience can be a Follower or just passing by.

Personal Brand is something you don’t create because you already have one! But for some reason, many of us aren’t comfortable with developing our personal brand. Coming up with something is a little bit tricky and at the same time risky at first. Not everyone for sure will be a fan. But if it’s personal to you, as an outcome, it become more personal to your audience. As an example, strong online presence is not only based on number of followers but number returnees or retention & your activities. Just like any other business owner or whatever professional level you are, your value & skills plays a big role of your brand.

Why personal branding is non-negotiable for 2018? We all know it takes time and it’s not something you can do overnight. Sure thing that you can polish your LinkedIN, IG and FB accounts but these are just small logistics. Effective ways are, of course to establish my authority on my content and consistently work on my niche. My social profiles are now my life portfolio. I always think what I can always bring to the table as a professional. Building my brand doesn’t depend what’s the hype but rather than to develop a digital footprint with my audience. It is to give others something to remember.

I’m still getting there, and my platforms aren’t strong yet. When you say, “The brand called you” It is what makes you different? You’re not defined by your job title and you’re not limited to your job description. Be unlimited, Work with integrity and know your passion. I have a day job which involves Training and Development. I never Imagine myself getting involve socially with everyone’ but I must say I’m actually doing pretty good at it. Opportunities also comes as talent recruiters mostly search thru personality branding from linkedIN.

Here’s what you can do to manage your brand.

• Know your limits, you can’t juggle 5 tasks at one time. Eliminate excess baggage that doesn’t help you grow.
• Know your brand
• Get your story straight
• Don’t try to be unique. Just be u-nique
• Be bold and brave, you don’t owe anyone an explanation.
• Increase your value through constant learning
• Actions speaks louder than voice
• Be consistent

Just Remember that Personal branding is not about selling. It is about staying true to yourself. Creating an impression is not always bound in the internet. Of course, no one needs to know what you had for breakfast nor what you did last weekend but posting some content which has sense will likely create some buzz.

All of us need to understand the importance of branding. We are CEOs of our own companies: Me Inc. To be in business today, our most important job is to be head marketer for the brand called You.
