I came to realize that we should have seen a GP first before rushing straight to either Neuro or Psychiatrist. If we have known that earlier, we could have asked to run a Nutritional Deficiencies Test initially. Sometimes it’s not essential to see a psychiatrist right away, but as I’ve mention on my previous post “Be wary, our Ignorance might fail us too see a serious condition that requires treatment”. Better judgement is necessary, as a wife these were the things to consider for. In mark’s case’ I think it would be probably too late as he needs immediate attention. Depression can be trace to a genetic link, so if it runs in your family’ you might think about of getting your Nutritional level screened, in which I recommend you do so! Of course, this applies to everyone. I believe this is the most undervalued health assessments that most of us fail to notice. (just saying) Supplements can be pretty pricey but these will help you not having to see your doctor as often.
Mark’s Top picks
- Omega-3 Fatty Acids – Mark is not a big fan of eating salmons or anything which produce ALA. Least favourite because of its foul’s smell. Made him less anxious but only beneficial in the treatment of mild to moderate depression. (at least we tried!)
- Neurobion – supplies brain chemicals that influence mood and other brain functions. Again, my husband doesn’t have a healthy lifestyle. Eggs and dairy products are not his thing.
- Ginko Biloba – for mood disorders. He is taking it 3 times a day (240mg)
- Vitamin C – can reverse the symptoms of Anxiety and Depression.
- 5- HTP – should he take it or not? This is my last Ace! As much as possible I don’t want him dispensing to Seroquel again. But believe me, in times when his Depression is progressing. This pal helps him because of its Valerian content to calm him and get a good night sleep.
- St john’s wort – I won’t recommend it for someone who was treated with clinical depression. I guess doesn’t do much to him.
My spouse was taking these tabs religiously for every day. Started after 2 months when he suddenly discontinues his SSRI’s. It works anyway, he managed to survive for 5 months after cold turkey. But as I’ve mentioned on my previous post. Relapse needs immediate treatment. I finally gave in, so hello again SEROXAT & XANAX.

I think it’s also important to have vitamin d and vitamin b levels checked. It turned out I was extremely vitamin d deficient. Which was adding to my depression and physical aches. I take vitamin d, b, and omegas.

Yes Absolutely, I believe we missed Vit D but I’m making sure he gets it from natural resources instead like fish, dairy’s and etc.
Neurobion is also a good source of vit B1,b6 & 12.
I’ll have another look on Vit D and will rely on caps ( might be )
my husband has muscle tensions and physical aches, might be leading to his vit D deficiencies.
thank for sharing all the best!

You are definitely on the right track looking at vitamin defeciency. There’s a better test showing genetic mutations that cause the defective. 23 and me.
Rhea

We’ve learned our lesson the hard way. but anyway’ these were these things were on top of our list now.
thanks for stopping by & God Bless
